6 Ways to Get Your Book In The Spotlight

You’ve published your book, now, it is time to get the book exposed to readers!  Far too often, readers stop at this point.  They struggle with how to promote the book to their niche readers to grow book sales and promote their businesses and services.  Here are 6 tips to help you get your book into the spotlight

Tip #1: Link to Your Book Wherever Possible

You’ve spent months writing, editing, and polishing your book. Your work is important, so make sure that those who can benefit from it can find it!  Add your purchasing link to your social media posts, website, newsletters and more. All SHERO Authors will also find their books highlighted in the SHERO Bookstore at sheropublishing.com. Get your book in front of thousands of readers!

Tip #2: Establish Your Voice on Blogs and Social Media

After posting a blog on your website, leverage it further by posting a link from your Facebook page, LinkedIn or Twitter. Blogs are a great way to grow your book exposure.

Tip #3: Always Be Looking for Places to Speak

If you can’t find a seminar or podcast, set up your own event! Speaking platforms are a great way to plug your books published works.  When securing speaking opportunities, a free table is typically included or can be negotiated. Always arrive at your speaking events with the expectation to sell your books!  Be ready to display your books with your branded tablecloth, author banner stand and a large supply of books to distribute. Make sure to capture contact information for everyone who visits your table! Also, get permission to reprint sections of the book and offer these to attendees as your course materials.

Tip #4: Write for Other Publications

Find another publication or publications that has writing opportunities. There are many magazines and local newsletters that solicit contributors. In your bio, indicate that you are an author. You can use these articles to “try out” new sections in your book.

Tip #5: Run a Print Ad for Your Book

Consider running a print ad for your book. While this may not sell many books, it will be a great way to demonstrate your expertise and edify you as an author.  This will also draw your targeted audience to your website for future sales.

Tip #6: Donate a Copy of Your Book for a Silent or Charity Auction

Organizations often have auctions to raise money. This is another great way to get your name out, and to market your book.
